Knitting and Weaving. This is a Three Months course offered at a certificate level. We have got a well-trained instructor. We do enroll students of age 14yrs and above without discrimination in tribe/religion. We do both formal and non-formal exams. We offer 60% of practical skills and 40% theory. Besides that learners do Extensive Practicals to make swaters. Students are equipped with employable and marketable skills that prepare them for the competitive job market. Such students can offer self employment for them selves and can also make swaters for schools.

Course Description

Knitting is the form of stitching that uses the threads to form thick cloth material. The threads in a knitted fabric run parallel and they are made by forming loops. These loops of thread are the foundation of the intertwined network of threads.

Weaving is an age-old process of interlacing threads in a criss-cross pattern. The fabric consists of a set of threads running longitudinal and another set that is woven at a perpendicular angle to it. The longitudinal threads are called the warp and that running ninety degrees are called the weft.

This process is best carried out using a loom that holds the warp in place while the weft is woven through it. The weft that binds the warp may be completely covered by the longitudinal threads or vice versa depending on the spacing between the threads.

Certification

At the end of the Courses, the laerner is subjected external assessment board known as Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board that cerifies and awards the successful learners with Certificates and Transcripts.

Course Duration
  • Short Course 6 Months: For those who completed primary seven
  • Short Course 3 Months: For those who have don't have qualification
    • Requirements
    • Admission fee of 15,000/= UGX
    • To Qualify for Certificate in a Short Course (6 months) one must atleast show interest and no level of Education is Needed.
    • To Qualify for Modular Certificate one must atleast complete Primary Six and below.
    • Any intereted Candidate who wish to get skilled can apply without any level of Education
