Salon and Hair Dressing. This is a one year course offered at a certificate level. We have got a well-trained instructors. We do enroll students of age 14yrs and above without discrimination in tribe/religion. We do both formal and non-formal exams. We offer 60% of practical skills and 40% theory. Besides that learners do ironing, shampoo and setting, makeup, pedicure and manicure, blow out, braiding, treatment and weaving everyday which exposes them to how it is done. Students are equipped with employable and marketable skills that prepare them for the competitive job market. We also offer short courses from 3 months and above. Course Description

A hairdressing salon is a business that focuses on cutting, coloring and styling customers’ hair. Many hairdressing salons are located in shopping areas in towns and cities. Smaller salons may have several hairdressers, while a large salon may employ dozens of hair stylists. The services offered at a hairdressing salon may include nails, makeup and skin care as well as hair cutting, coloring and styling.

All hair salons have hairdressing stations. Typically, they’re in a row along a countertop and mirror attached to a wall. Each station has a chair that is usually padded for comfort. The hairdresser adjusts the chair to each customer and spends time discussing the cut, color and/or style the person wants. Each hairdressing station in a salon typically has a wheeled cart that holds hair supplies.

Hair stylists use tools such as shears, or scissors, curling irons and hair straightening devices. A hairdressing salon usually offers hair washing services and in smaller shops, there may be only one sink area reserved for this. Many quick cut chain salons that don’t require appointments, don’t wash hair, but rather expect clients to have their hair recently washed to save time.

Certification

At the end of the Courses, the laerner is subjected external assessment board known as Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board that cerifies and awards the successful learners with Certificates and Transcripts.

  • For One Year Course: three terms
  • For 6 months Course: two terms.
  • For 3 months Course: One term mainly for Orginization
    • Requirements
    • Admission fee of 15,000/= UGX
    • To Qualify for Level Two Certificate one must atleast complete "O" Level and pass atleast five subjects or Have level one in Hair Dresser
    • To Qualify for Level One Certificate one must atleast complete Primary Seven and pass the subjects.
    • To Qualify for Modular Certificate one must atleast complete Primary Six and below.
    • Any intereted Candidate who wish to get skilled can apply without any level of Education
